Day One- South Hanover Storage, Hanover, Pa.

June 19, 2013
Well day 1 had a little of everything from 2 very excited grandkids. Very traumatic as this is the first time in 4 years that they’ve been separated overnight and poor Sophie had the double whammy of leaving her brother on the RV !!!!
I have to give a shout out to Steve Dodson of South Hanover Storage.  This has been a great place to have the RV stored for the last couple of years and I would highly recommend it. Clean and secure with a Camping World right next door and a Walmartright down the road.

Turns out a change of plans was a good idea as the load brought up from Federal Hill absolutely required 2 trips. Plus it gave us a fairly leisurely chance to store everything, get the frig up and running and have a nice lunch at a typical southern PA “family restaurant” before hitting Walmart for a few last items. Alex has one final school meeting this evening and then she and Sophie will meet Ty and I somewhere on the road to Wellsboro where we are headed to the Leonard Harrison State Park in Pennsylvania.
Spent a good part of the afternoon after she left dealing with insurance and I’ll leave that as the simple fact that I cannot for the life of me understand why Progressive wants the RV stored in Florida during hurricane season when it’s not on the road. Any way got the coverage back to operating mode versus the storage minimal coverage that it had been at.
Talked to Alex, Sophie was a basket case all the way back to Baltimore, short nap but woke up as they approached the Inner Harbor screaming “turn around and go back”… got to the house and her DADDY.  So all-in-all a good day with 2 very happy grandkids is a good way to start.

Alex's note... Yeah, two happy kids is debatable.  She did end stop screaming and crying eventually but then woke up at 6 am this morning and came running in to ask when we were going to the RV.  She spent the next hour as I got ready and packed the car telling me “Hurry up!  I want Grandy and the RV!” Apparently a 7:30 start time was really holding her back. On the other hand, Ty said he had a wonderful time on Grandy’s bus and ice cream for dinner. :)
